Role: HypoPara Clinical Specialist (Denver, CO) – focused on supporting the launch of Yorvipath. The specialist will understand and identify customer needs, support pull-through activities relative to the customer strategy, and ensure Ascendis Pharma is viewed as a valued partner to healthcare professionals and their patients. Primary focus is on launch support and developing superior product and disease state knowledge to engage in compliant clinical dialogue with healthcare professionals, educating on approved indications and product efficacy/safety profiles to support on-label prescribing.
Responsibilities
Engage in customized discussions and in-person interactions with customers based on their needs in a compliant and ethical manner.
Drive outstanding sales performance to meet or exceed sales forecasts.
Utilize assigned budgets to drive therapeutic and territory expectations.
Maintain current understanding of local market, practice structures, business models, and key influencers; share insights with Sales and Commercial Leaders and other stakeholders.
Identify business opportunities by understanding practice structure, business model, and network of customers.
Use analytical tools to evaluate the business and determine how to achieve sales objectives with appropriate resources.
Collaborate with leaders to develop a business plan, understand formulary approvals, and integrate opportunities into execution.
Deliver resources and pull-through within the territory by coordinating with internal stakeholders.
Maintain administrative excellence for work hours, sales call data, customer objectives responses, samples, expenses, and other administrative items.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
5+ years of previous sales experience in a specialty environment; experience in rare disease and injectable therapies, and adult endocrinology preferred.
Ability to work in an ambiguous, changing environment; start-up experience preferred.
Experience with complex distribution systems and HUB services to ensure a smooth customer experience.
Proven history of strong performance and ongoing current performance.
Experience in a new product launch environment preferred.
Experience working with patient services in a distribution HUB and specialty pharmacies.
Self-starter with strong decision-making, judgment, and ethics; proven collaboration across functions.
Experience in a specialty drug (rare/orphan disease) environment to address customer and patient needs compliantly.
Ability to develop a successful business plan based on customer and patient needs; ability to analyze data/metrics to assess progress and diagnose performance issues.
Experience establishing new customer relationships and communicating technical information ethically and effectively.
Ability to meet credentialing requirements; valid driver’s license and safe driving record; overnight travel required.
Compensation and benefits
The estimated salary range for this position is $190k/year. Actual salary depends on factors including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. This role may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus or incentive plan, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives, paid time off, and a comprehensive benefits package.
