The Opportunity You will act as the connector between big ideas and the resources that bring them to life. You will scout and select suppliers—partners who help turn product concepts into reality and keep existing products thriving. From day one, you’ll influence how we scale, reduce costs, improve quality, and minimize risk, ensuring new product launches stay on track and production lines run smoothly. Your work will directly impact how quickly and effectively we deliver innovation to the world. What Your Day-to-Day Will Involve Supplier identification and selection for all commodities required to manufacture PROCEPT products, including metals, plastics, PCBAs, cables, and various electronic components. Negotiate Product Development Agreements and Supply Agreements to protect PROCEPT’s interests in quality, cost, delivery, capacity, and performance. Establish a framework for supply chain risk management (Tier 1 and sub-tier) and drive projects to reduce supply continuity risk. Support BOM cost reduction targets through competitive sourcing techniques. Develop ‘should-cost’ models to support cost reduction strategies and supplier negotiations. Lead resolution of issues related to delivery, supplier performance, quality, or cost. Represent Supply Chain at new product/project core team meetings and project phase-exit reviews. Lead or participate in the continuous improvement of business processes and tools. Qualifications We Need You to Possess 10+ years of experience in direct materials for new and existing products. Functional understanding of manufacturing processes used by suppliers of mechanical components (precision machining, sheet metal, plastic injection molding, and other plastics processes) or contract manufacturing, OEM or electro-mechanical components, or electronic components (PCA/PCBA/Optics, etc.). Experience with supplier negotiations and contract development. Experience with make vs. buy decisions & ROI analysis. Excellent communication skills (verbal, email, presentations). Working knowledge of buying, material planning, master scheduling, and forecasting. Certifications: CPSM, CPIM, and/or PMP is a plus. Ability to proactively follow up on responsibilities in a timely manner. Experience working with engineers and manufacturing for prototype parts procurement, pilot activities, and production launches. Strong computer skills (MS Office; ERP systems) and MS-Excel; ability to read engineering drawings. Basic understanding of data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) is a plus. Knowledge of Cost of Goods Sold (COGs) and cost levers. The Qualifications We Would Like You to Possess BS degree in an Engineering discipline. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrates precision, thoroughness, and high analytics capability. Willingness to work in the office. Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises employees in the Strategic Sourcing organization in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, directing work, appraising performance, rewarding, and addressing complaints.
