Overview
Director of Manufacturing & Supply Chain role at Method Recruiting. Location: US (East Coast preferred) or Taiwan—hybrid. Travel: ~20–30% to Taiwan/Asia. Reports to: COO. Mission: Drive operational excellence across brands’ FATP manufacturing setup while expanding vendor network, improving quality, reducing costs, and ensuring reliable scale-up in APAC. What You’ll Own
Manufacturing Operations
Oversee FATP production—capacity planning, line performance, and OTD. Continuously improve yield, takt time, and throughput. Partner with FATP engineering teams to resolve issues quickly.
Supplier & Vendor Management
Expand vendor base in Taiwan/Asia for key components. Build dual-sourcing and resilience into supply chain. Negotiate commercial terms and drive cost-down initiatives.
Quality & Reliability
Strengthen IQC/IPQC/OQC processes. Lead supplier audits and scorecards. Drive DPPM, RMA, and reliability improvements using structured methods (PFMEA/DFMEA, 8D).
Cost & Efficiency
Own costed BOMs and deliver continuous cost reductions. Implement VA/VE programs with suppliers. Track and deliver quarterly PPV improvements.
Logistics & Planning
Manage production schedules, inventory, and global logistics with 3PLs. Ensure seamless flow from Asia to US markets. Lead S&OP cadence aligned with sales forecasts.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Partner with Hardware, Firmware, and Customer Ops on ramp and issue resolution. Act as the cultural and communication bridge between brand and APAC vendors.
Experience & Qualifications
Area: Manufacturing Requirement: 8–12+ years in manufacturing and supply chain management (consumer electronics, durable goods, or comparable industries). Domain Fit: Experience in e-scooter, e-bike, or connected fitness devices is a major plus, but not required. Geography: Deep Taiwan/Asia manufacturing exposure; strong supplier network. Scale: Led mass production (10k–100k+ units/year). Ops: Directly managed FATP or CM/ODM partners. Quality: Built/owned QC systems (IQC/IPQC/OQC), reduced DPPM/RMA at scale. Sourcing: Vendor diversification, dual-sourcing, and cost-down programs. Negotiation: Strong track record with APAC suppliers (pricing, terms, tooling). Working Style: Comfortable with Asia time zones + ~20–30% travel. Certifications: Familiarity with consumer electronics compliance (UL/ETL, CE, RoHS). Job Details
