Senior Accountant
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the Hawaii accounting department, including month-end and year-end close processes, general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Responsibilities
Support the Assistant Accounting Manager with Accounts Receivable oversight
Support the Accounts Payable Manager
Manage the month-end and year-end close processes
Assist with cash management
Supervise and mentor junior accountants or accounting staff
Support audits (internal and external) by providing necessary documentation and responses
Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and relevant laws and regulations
Monitor and improve internal controls and accounting procedures
Collaborate cross-functionally with departments to support financial decision-making
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
Proficient in accounting software Sage Intacct and Titanium
Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling)
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
Strong communication and organizational abilities
Ability to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
CPA or CMA certification
Experience in Construction, Federal Contracts and Sage Intacct
Familiarity with ERP systems and automation tools
