They seek a take-charge, high potential financial / accounting professional to join the senior management team to lead the financial operations for the company. The senior leadership team are experienced transaction / acquisition professionals with a strong track record of success and value creation. The company, located in an urban, Metro-accessible Montgomery County location, has a flexible, hybrid work structure.
Position
In this newly created, diverse role, a hands-on, focused finance and accounting real estate professional will be a part of the company’s investment platform to lead corporate accounting, investment reporting, financial reporting, tax, treasury, financial systems and other areas as requested. They will manage property accounting and reporting, design, implement, and lead best practices in the finance, accounting, and reporting infrastructure. This Director of Finance will report directly to the firm’s leadership. Additional responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Lead the day-to-day financial operations for corporate and investment accounting. This includes full cycle accounting, internal and external reporting, budgeting, and financial operations to include distribution/contribution management.
Oversee in-house and 3rd party property accounting, property level reporting, internal communication to the investment team, and investor reporting.
Manage delivery and analysis of financial reports, including reports for lenders, partners and investors.
Manage external auditor and tax accounting firm deliverables (financial statement audits, tax filings, etc.) and ensure requests are met timely.
Review and analyze regulatory filings and reports for property level real estate taxes and insurance, as well as corporate and investment level taxes, including ensuring that filings and payments are timely and accurate.
Ensure strong operational and accounting processes are established for efficiency, internal controls and scalability for future growth.
Special Projects, various Ad Hoc projects, asset integrations, and get involved/add value where needed
Requirements Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. CPA preferred
Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, including managing a team and experience with a real estate investment company.
Experience with Microsoft Excel as well as working with multiple entities and revenue sources
Hands on, a can-do attitude, enjoy managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Must have acute attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Must be a strategic thinker and assertive in a fast paced, multi-entity environment
Enjoy working in an entrepreneurial, collaborative culture with changing priorities

Compensation
A competitive package with annual cash compensation including base salary and target performance bonus. Future equity potential with time for strong performance.
