Role Description The Business Development Director – Senior Living
can work in St. Louis or remotely. They will be responsible for selling professional Owner’s Representative services to senior living providers (not-for-profit, faith-based, and for-profit organizations) planning Capital Improvement Programs, renovations, and new construction projects nationwide. This position requires frequent travel across the U.S. to meet with clients, attend conferences, and build NAVIGATE’s brand within the senior living sector.
Essential Position Functions
Attend and prospect at national and regional senior living conferences, trade shows, and association meetings
Plan and participate in speaking opportunities, panel discussions, and special events
Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of senior living opportunities nationwide
Educate prospective clients on the Owner’s Representative role, services, and value proposition
Identify and advance opportunities that lead to proposal requests and contract awards
Collaborate with Operations to develop tailored service proposals and strategies
Secure new contracts while fostering repeat business with existing clients
Build and sustain long-term relationships with senior living executives, boards, and architects, engineers, and senior living associations to generate referrals
Travel extensively (air and ground) across the United States for conferences, client meetings, and networking
Note: Additional duties may be assigned to cover absences, balance workload, or support other areas of the business.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, and/or
3+ years of directly related business development experience in the senior living sector
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proven ability to identify, qualify, and close opportunities within the senior living sector
Knowledge of the national senior living landscape, including key associations and providers
Entrepreneurial drive and self-motivation with a strong sense of accountability
Demonstrated success in building strategic relationships with executives and boards
Excellent communication, presentation, and networking skills
Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities simultaneously
Strong project management and organizational skills
Capacity to quickly learn and articulate NAVIGATE’s value proposition
Familiarity with senior living procurement processes and capital planning methods (preferred)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook)
Travel Nationwide travel is required. The role involves travel to senior living conferences, client sites, and networking events.
