Sr. Backend Software Engineer - Data Imports at Addepar. We are a global technology and data company that helps investment professionals provide informed, precise guidance for their clients. Addepar’s platform aggregates portfolio, market and client data for assets across the globe, and integrates with more than 100 software, data and services partners. We offer a flexible, global workforce with offices in New York City, Salt Lake City, Chicago, London, Edinburgh, Pune and Dubai. The Data Imports team handles large volumes of data and the engineering challenges associated with distributed data ingestion and transformation. This role offers the opportunity to work with modern technology stacks to help build the next generation of Addepar’s data, computation, API and research platform. Pay will be determined based on role, skills, experience and location. The current range for this role is $125,000 - $195,000 (base salary) plus bonus, equity and benefits. Salary ranges may vary by location. What You’ll Do
Architect, implement, and maintain engineering solutions to solve complex problems; write well-designed, testable code Lead individual project priorities, deadlines, and solutions Collaborate effectively with product managers, engineers and partners on projects Communicate technical ideas and set direction on projects with a focus on solving business challenges Mentor other engineers on the team Document software functionality, system design, and project plans; ensure clean, readable code with meaningful comments Promote engineering standard methodologies and principles Who You Are
B.S., or M.S. in Computer Science or a similar technical field (or equivalent practical experience) Demonstrated professional software engineering experience with object-oriented programming; Java experience is a plus Experience in building and evolving large-scale, distributed systems Experience with databases, SQL, NoSQL, OLAP, and/or data lake architectures Strong AWS knowledge and architectural experience is a plus Ownership mentality and drive to solve important problems Passion for implementing standard processes with a bias toward automation Proven ability to collaborate with and mentor other engineers Our Values
