We are looking for bold, optimistic collaborators for our new team at the mRNA Center of Excellence. The center represents a major investment to advance mRNA vaccine development and manufacturing, with collaboration across R&D, digital, and CMC teams.

As an mRNA Sr. Associate Scientist in Analytical Sciences, you will ensure laboratory activities in support of process development and industrialization and will characterize mRNA vaccines in development.

Responsibilities

Participate in the development of new analytical methods for mRNA products in collaboration with the team.

Participate in qualification and transferring of analytical methods.

Perform analytical testing in the lab, data analysis, and related document writing with a critical view of the relevance of the results.

Develop and write work plans/protocols.

Summarize and communicate the progress of your work.

Participate in laboratory automation to set up high-throughput analyses.

Accompany and train newcomers in analytical technologies and methods.

Participate in laboratory organization activities (orders, management/maintenance of equipment, reception & verification of reagents and receipt of samples).

Participate in or lead analytical working groups.

Participate in GMP and non-GMP lab setup and continuous improvement of laboratory safety and quality compliance.

Perform GMP sample collection, analysis, and data verification.

Comply with Sanofi Quality standards and HSE policy and participate in continuous improvement of laboratory safety and quality compliance.

Qualifications

BS or MS in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or equivalent.

BS with 5+ years or MS with 2+ years of professional experience in the vaccine or pharmaceutical industry in the field of Research & Development and Quality Control analytics.

2 years of hands-on experience with physicochemical and biochemical analytical techniques including, but not limited to, UPLC/HPLC with UV detection, CAD, MS; DLS; DSC, and related techniques.

Practical lab experience and data analysis skills for analytical techniques used for expression tests, including MS, Flow Cytometry, ELISA, Western Blot.

Proficiency with analytical software (Empower, Chromeleon, XCalibur, OpenLab).

Hands-on experience with lipid analysis and formulation is desirable.

Hands-on experience with assay automation is desirable.

Hands-on experience performing basic maintenance of high-resolution mass spectrometers is desirable.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team to complete assignments within defined time constraints.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, matrix environment with initiative to lead new tasks.

Ability to work full-time onsite in an analytical lab environment.
