Overview Special Counsel / Partner – Civil Litigation (Columbia, SC or Remote in SC)

Are you an experienced civil litigator ready to step into a growth role with more work than we can handle? Our team is expanding, and we’re seeking a Special Counsel or Partner-level attorney to join our thriving civil litigation practice. This is a rare opportunity to take on a robust caseload without the need for a portable book of business. While we can accommodate candidates who bring business, our primary motivation is finding a skilled litigator who can hit the ground running and help us serve our clients at the highest level.

Flexibility to work in-office (Columbia, SC) 2–3 days per week OR fully remote anywhere in South Carolina

Compensation designed to reward performance: base plus incentives tied to hours, revenue, originations, or a combination depending on circumstances

Responsibilities:

Defend civil litigation claims, with an emphasis on construction litigation, products liability, professional liability, premises liability, and commercial litigation

Manage cases from inception through trial and arbitration

Provide strategic counsel and strong courtroom advocacy

Collaborate with colleagues to support an active and expanding litigation docket

Qualifications:

Licensed to practice in South Carolina

Minimum of 5 years of civil litigation defense experience

Strong track record of handling cases through trial and/or arbitration

Excellent writing, advocacy, and client communication skills

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume practice
