Our client, a Midwest-based national law firm, is seeking a patent prosecution attorney to join its cutting-edge practice as an associate (must have experience or undergraduate degree in electrical/mechanical engineering or computer science). This firm’s Intellectual Property team provides a full range of prosecution and enforcement services relating to patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets, and clients range from start-ups to Fortune 50 companies. Prepare and handle prosecution of U.S. and foreign patent applications across multiple disciplines Advise clients on IP strategy, portfolio management, and patent enforcement Perform analyses on patentability, freedom-to-operate, infringement, and validity Support IP litigation teams with technical analysis, discovery, and expert coordination when necessary Stay informed on USPTO procedures, key case law, and international IP issues Required Qualifications
2-5 years of patent preparation and prosecution experience Undergraduate degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or computer science Advanced degree or relevant industry/technical work experience with electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or computer science is a strong plus Location
Chicago, IL (Hybrid) Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $214,500 – $265,000.
