Assistant Project Manager

ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER Reports to: This position will report to the Project Manager Objective: The Assistant Project Manager (APM) is responsible to assist the project team in the completion of each assigned project within established schedule and budget parameters, and in a manner consistent with customer-focused project delivery standards. The APM must be able to multi-task, prioritize his/her own responsibilities. The APM is also expected to develop and foster strong relationships with industry contacts, including customers, the design community, owners representatives, and subcontractors. Supervisory Responsibility: The APM will work in concert with Dir. of Ops, PX, PMs, on-site Superintendents, and the General Superintendent. Safety: Communicate and enforce safety procedures and site rules. Responsibilities are carried out in support of the Project Manager and project team to manage overall project requirements and ensure alignment with schedule and budget expectations. Responsibilities
Receive, log, file, and control shop drawings Assist with processing of RFIs Follow up on quantities in place weekly with support of Superintendent Quantity take-off for field procurement and change orders Assist Project Manager and Superintendent in preparing and updating schedule Assist Project Manager with change order proposals Prepare and distribute meeting minutes Assist Superintendent in development of initial punch list Manage closeout and procure all closeout materials as the project progresses Assist with Subcontractor solicitation and procurement Assistance with estimating Submittal and shop drawing review and processing Assist with and attend PSR meetings Closeouts; timely, complete and accurate Performs other related duties as assigned Soft Skills and Qualities

B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent, plus experience/knowledge of construction. 1-3 years of experience in related construction fields. Thorough knowledge of Safety Program. Basic scheduling understanding. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Willingness to travel. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work under pressure. Extremely detail oriented. Ability to read, understand, and execute blueprints, drawings, and plans. Understanding of quality building practices. Ability to quickly identify problems. ComputerEase, Procore, BluBeam, Excel And Word Experience Preferred. Physical Requirements
Workers must be able to see well (either naturally or with correction); coordinate the movements of eyes, hands and fingers; use hands, arms and fingers fully; climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at heights as required; and list and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally more. Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the construction site in all types of weather. Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in civil engineering or construction management, or related field required. Employment Details
