Overview
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Newport Beach, CA, for a Senior Finance & Operations Manager. The Senior Finance & Operations Manager will provide critical financial oversight, operational support, and compliance leadership for both property-level and corporate functions. This role will serve as a key liaison between the corporate office and property-level teams, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance with HR and payroll standards, and operational efficiency. This role requires strong accounting and finance expertise, knowledge of HR / payroll compliance, and the ability to support asset management and system implementation initiatives. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Finance
Review property-level financial statements and balance sheet reconciliations as part of the monthly close process. Oversee cash management and monitor property-level financial performance. Partner with Directors of Finance and Controllers on monthly forecasting and annual budgeting. Manage and oversee property capital expenditure draws and disbursements with lenders. Manage intercompany billing and allocations. Assist tax consultants with preparation of business property returns. Provide property-level support for accounting, HR, and payroll inquiries, troubleshooting and resolving issues. Support corporate team with management takeovers, transitions, and terminations. Maintain Chart of Accounts (COA) and financial statement templates in M3 Accounting Core. Oversee implementation of new financial and operational systems to enhance efficiency and reporting capabilities.
HR & Payroll
Manage payroll location allocations and general ledger mapping setup / maintenance. Oversee benefits administration and conduct internal audits. Ensure HR compliance in areas of onboarding, terminations, and personnel documentation. Monitor 401(k) plan compliance through internal audits and assist with external audits. Support ACA reporting, California Pay Data, and EEOC reporting requirements.
Operations & Asset Management
Collaborate with COO on ad-hoc asset management initiatives and financial analysis. Monitor and enforce labor management standards across the portfolio to ensure efficiency and compliance. Update and monitor benchmarking analysis for revenue and expense initiatives Assist property teams with purchasing / rebate programs rack and report on required hotel training requirements Provide operational insights to support performance improvement across properties.
Key Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or operations, preferably in hospitality or real estate management. Strong knowledge of GAAP, HR compliance, payroll, and benefits administration. Proficiency with M3 Accounting Core and payroll / HRIS systems preferred. Experience implementing or overseeing new financial / operational systems is a strong plus. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with both corporate and property-level teams. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
