Veterinary Emergency + Referral Center of Hawaii (VERC)
is looking for an additional Ophthalmologist to join their growing team. VERC is an advanced 24-hour veterinary emergency and specialty hospital, the first of its kind in Hawaii. Our board-certified specialists and highly trained emergency professionals provide a collaborative approach to veterinary medicine. Our 17,250 square foot facility includes an oncology suite and advanced diagnostic equipment including ultrasound, endoscopy, digital radiography, 128-slice CT, an MRI, fluoroscopy, and an in-house laboratory. Our staff includes specialists in critical care, internal medicine, neurology, surgery, oncology, radiology, physical rehabilitation, emergency veterinarians, and experienced technicians. We were honored to be named the 2022 Hospital of the Year in the over 8,000 sq ft category. This distinction recognizes facilities that are attractive, functional, and efficient, designed for safety and wellness of patients, clients, and staff. Qualifications
The successful candidate for the position of ophthalmologist will be board-certified or residency-trained, motivated, and energetic. We are seeking someone who fits in with our cohesive team, stays up to date with evolving medical guidance in their field, and has strong communication and interpersonal skills. We emphasize a collaborative approach to medicine; specialists, emergency doctors, technicians, and client care staff work closely with referring veterinarians to provide great care to patients and their human companions. Compensation and Benefits
We offer a highly competitive compensation package, including a signing bonus, relocation allowance, and tailored relocation assistance to the island. Benefits include a biannual travel stipend to visit family on the mainland, short-term housing during the search for a home, and more. As part of our interview process, we invite you for a visit (travel expenses paid) to tour our hospital and meet our team. Compensation: base compensation for this position falls between $200K and $230K depending on experience and qualifications, with possible sign-on and relocation bonuses.
