Tasks and Responsibilities
Responsible for overall R&D program including several R&D and PD sites. The related products are primarily optical components and transceivers optimized for hyperscale AI and cloud data centers. Responsible for organizing the implementation of new product development and technical breakthrough, so that the company’s products can be continuously improved and the technology of products can be kept progressive. Responsible for overall product requirements analysis, architecture design, technology selection, module development, debugging, and customer satisfaction for NA / EMEA. This position requires customer facing communication of NPI progress, evaluation results, and own and drive customer issues to resolution during NPI qual process. Develop understanding of customer’s target markets, analyze, and prioritize customer design requirements, and provide feedback to the relevant engineering team. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware development, FW team, PLMs and sales, to ensure that technology solutions align with business needs, and provide technical guidance to sales, AEs, FAEs and customers Develop and draft technical specifications for advanced optical pluggable transceivers in alignment with IEEE802.3, OIF, FSAN, IPEC and ITU-T standards. Represent company technically in key industry forums and trade shows, presenting contributions and facilitating discussions on optical standards and new products. Track and assess developments in optical networking standards, identifying new market opportunities and potential product risks Managing the development and deployment of technological solutions and ensuring that the IP strategy aligns with the company’s overarching business objectives Manage and understand intellectual property considerations in standards work Hands-on troubleshoot and debug customers issues and help with customer system bring up with skills and ability to resolve in depth technical issues with the customer, also at the customer location. Act as the technical interface at executive level with hyperscale and other Tier1 customers to collect marketing requirements and resolve technical issues Collaborate with other executives, such as the CEO and CBO, to understand business needs and ensure technological solutions align with those needs. Communicating customer’s needs and lead executive functionality roadmap planning Manage NA trade shows and multiple-vendor interop demonstration Responsible for team building, motivation, evaluation, and development. Skills and Qualifications
PhD degree or above, with a professional background in optoelectronics, analog & mix-signal ICs, fiber optics and communication, and good English proficiency. More than 25+ years of experience in high-speed ICs, optical components, optical modules, or optical design for relevant industry. 5+ years’ experience in the capacity of CTO or similar position in transceiver industry Industry known expert inphotonicIC technologies, optics transceivers, and optical networking with outstanding and sustained contributions to and leadership on advancing physical-layer integrated circuit devices and optical transceivers in transmission and data center applications. Working experience with IEEE802.3, OIF, ITU-T or similar standards organizations Working experience of developing advanced 100G / L and 200G / L based PAM4 DSPs Working Experience in a multi-vendor environment with hands-on experience with networking hardware Knowledge of advanced pluggable transceivers like 400ZR(+), 800ZR(+), or 1600ZR. Familiar with advanced analog IC and silicon-based semiconductor chip integrated design and packaging Experience in designing high-speed signal integrity for IC devices associated with PAM4 signaling and possess design evaluation capabilities. Familiar with AI optimized data center interconnect networking infrastructure, cabling, relevant specifications and application environment of optical transceivers. Familiar with semiconductor optoelectronic and fiber optics theory Have relevant experience in managing transceiver projects and R&D teams. Priority given to having a background in large company platforms Have a deep understanding of optical transceiver function and design principles. Capable of testing optical transceivers on customer system boards to troubleshoot technical issues. Strong organizational & communication skills in a global cross-functional environment Minimum 15+ years of relevant experience in applications engineering, board development, system level design and architecture, product R&D role in optical transceiver or related telecommunication industry Prior hyperscale customers facing work experience is preferred A solid understanding of optical module architecture and host switch configuration is essential Relevant datacom or telecom industry experience for cloud and networking platform Extensive switch and optical transceiver testing experience Fluent in Mandarin Chinese is a plus Work Location :
