Perform all testing accurately and in a timely manner according to established policies and procedures. Performs scheduled maintenance & Troubleshooting instrument as needed. Quality Control, Calibrations and Troubleshooting outliers/ complete documentation Calling Critical Values & complete documentation Satisfactorily complete all assigned CAP proficiencies and in a timely manner. Perform QA support operations. Monitor and resolve pending and QA logs and exception reports Take responsibility for MD & patient concerns. Use good customer service skills in all contacts with patients, staff, and physicians Gathering data for validations & correlations Assist in Central Processing area when necessary. Be responsible for monitoring and maintaining adequate testing supplies and inventory Certification & Licensure
CLSL-Licensed Clinical Lab Scientist Upon Hire Preferred Experience
Preferred one (1) year continuous experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist. For CLS without experience, prior experience in the clinical laboratory/healthcare and Palo Alto Medical Foundation (3 years) is preferred. Equivalency will be determined by the Laboratory Director and the Personnel office staff. Skills and Knowledge
Decision Making/Problem Solving: Demonstrate ability to work independently. Ability to accept, implement and evaluate change. Knowledge of phlebotomy, specimen handling, processing and experience with Lab Information Systems. Expert knowledge and ability to perform in all technical areas of the lab as assigned. Basic knowledge of how to operate and troubleshoot all essential laboratory and office equipment. Planning/Organizational Skills: The ability to perform with minimum supervision, all routine procedures and the most advanced procedures in the laboratory. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
