Responsibilities

Teach core curriculum at all levels of the mechanical engineering program, including first-year engineering, senior capstone, and hands-on laboratory sequences. Develop and deliver course materials, curricula, and syllabi in mechanical engineering and structural mechanics; evaluate and revise curricula, course content, and methods of instruction. Develop an active research program in the field of composite materials; conduct research to understand the failure of composite structures used in engineering applications. Explore areas such as manufacturing of fiber-reinforced polymeric composites; computational modeling of manufacturing defects; progressive failure analysis of composite materials; sustainability of composites; and experimental testing of composite materials. Involve undergraduate students in research, disseminate findings, and publish peer-reviewed papers. Advise and mentor students on academic and career paths; collaborate with colleagues to develop teaching resources that enhance undergraduate engineering education and student research; contribute to service responsibilities for the department and university. Maintain an annual salary range of $103,527 – $114,426 per year. Qualifications
