Overview
Program Director SUD Treatment - DOC Programs. Residential program for adult residents who are state inmates classified to a work release/substance abuse program. Staff are accountable to carry out assigned duties relating to the treatment and security of the residence and residents in accordance with established protocols and procedures. Responsibilities
Plan and provide overall direction and coordination of drug dependency treatment programs for clients assigned to the New Jersey Association on Correction at Millicent Fenwick House. Lead the development, implementation, and continuous evaluation of the re-entry program, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and effective support for individuals reintegrating into society. Participate in daily shift-change meetings, monthly staff meetings, weekly house meetings, weekly treatment team meetings, and scheduled trainings and executive staff meetings. Develop new initiatives to support the program's strategic direction. Ensure program activities operate within organizational and funder policies and procedures and comply with relevant standards and licensure (ACA, PREA, DHMAS Licensure). Meet all internal and external standards and policies; develop forms and records to document program activities. Under the Program Supervisor, recruit, interview, and select qualified program treatment staff; implement HR policies; review payroll; evaluate staff performance; engage volunteers/interns; provide orientation. Report to the Program Supervisor and act as designee when the Supervisor is unavailable; ensure staff orientation and training; act as Facility PREA Compliance Manager. Supervise program case management staff to ensure clients receive appropriate services; ensure completion of annual training and coordinate services across treatment and operations for effectiveness and efficiency. Develop and implement comprehensive assessments and treatment plans within established timeframes; provide individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, community outings with accountability, monthly behavioral evaluations, and documentation; conduct multidisciplinary case conferences and treatment plan reviews; develop aftercare plans. Represent the program to build community support and coordinate services with stakeholders; identify and report program activities and risks; ensure ongoing reporting to management and funders. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Experience: At least two (2) years in a supervisory capacity in addiction services; supervision of Vocational Case Managers, Case Managers, SUD Counselors, Interns, and others. Education: A NJ licensed psychologist, NJ licensed clinical social worker, NJ licensed professional counselor or licensed marriage and family therapist with at least five years in addiction services and relevant supervisor certification; or a NJ LCADC with five years in addiction services plus a recognized Master\'s degree; or a NJ licensed physician or advanced practice nurse with appropriate certification; or a doctoral degree in human services, mental health, or social work. Clearances: Pass criminal, education, substance use testing, and driver background checks; maintain a clean background; have access to insured, registered vehicle; possess a valid driver\'s license. Knowledge, skills and abilities: Knowledge of treatment program management; knowledge of client groups and issues; strong competencies in social learning theory, CBT, assessment, training, group dynamics; ability to work with diverse populations. Proficiency in computers: Word processing, simple accounting, databases, spreadsheets, email, internet, client tracking software. Personal characteristics: Ethical behavior; relationship building; effective communication; creativity and innovation; client-focused; teamwork; leadership and decision-making; organization and planning; problem solving.
