Marketing and Communications Manager
will be responsible for ASCET’s communications efforts with the stakeholder ecosystems in each CET, with emphasis on engaging industry, government, academia, standards development organizations (SDOs), and other stakeholders, such as media organizations. This role plays a crucial part in expanding the ASCET CoE’s reach and impact by crafting narratives and marketing strategies, fostering relationships, securing and populating dissemination pipelines, and promoting the endeavors of ASCET and its burgeoning ecosystems. The ideal candidate has a strong background in communications; B2B, B2G, and B2X marketing strategies and tactics; business development; and strategic partnership management within the technical, government, academic, or standardization sectors. Key Responsibilities
Communications Strategy Management: Develop, implement, and manage the portfolio of communications strategies, networks, and relationships for the ecosystem of stakeholders within each CET. Produce progress reports, industry briefs, and white papers in each CET highlighting ASCET’s achievements and impact on the U.S. standardization landscape. Coordinate communications tactics, calendars, and messaging among ASCET staff, ASTM Global Communications, and NIST stakeholders. Manage content and messaging on ASCET’s website and social media platforms. Maintain the glossary of terms, FAQs, and slide decks for consistent messaging. Organize events, webinars, and workshops to share best practices and lessons learned from ASCET’s activities. Marketing Strategy Initiatives
Emphasize the role of standards and ASCET’s leadership in securing national interests and global influence in standardization. Direct participation of ASCET staff in the production of media for external dissemination, including podcasts, social media, and briefing kits for technical and executive audiences. Elevate the importance of pre-standardization and standardization efforts within key stakeholder groups, such as SMEs. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Media Relations, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in corporate or non-profit communications, B2B, B2G, or B2X marketing practice, partnerships, or stakeholder engagement. Experience working in standardization, technical industries, or nonprofit sectors is a plus. Excellent networking and relationship-building skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and digital communication tools. Strategic thinking with the ability to identify opportunities and execute growth initiatives. Preferred Qualifications
Experience in standards and standardization with organizations, such as ASTM, ISO, or other regulatory organizations. Extensive background in marketing and communications associated with public-private partnerships. Strong strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities.
