Overview

Under general direction, coordinates, supervises, and manages one or more functions of an operational or administrative unit of the Court and may assist in the overall administration of a major division of the Court. This classification serves in a management capacity and is responsible for overseeing complex personnel matters and leading and developing teams in an operational and/or administrative unit of the Court including Court programs and projects. The classification works closely with judicial officers, Court staff, community partners, vendors and other related agencies. This recruitment will establish an eligibility list for future vacancies for various locations/departments throughout the Court, as well as the current vacancy listed below. Current Vacancy

The current vacancy is in the Facilities Department and is primarily an on-site assignment with eligible telework, related to Court facilities support. This assignment includes but is not limited to: Vendor management: tracking vendor performance against metrics such as code enforcement, quality, delivery time, and cost. Overseeing construction projects across all facilities, including maintenance, remodel, and space planning. Overseeing building and personnel safety and security, including fire drills. After-hours support required (5% compensation differential). Responsibilities

Manages one or more programs, projects, or functions; may assist in the overall administration of a Division. Plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates activities of the program, project, or function directly or through subordinate supervisors. Performs supervisory duties, including training staff, assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, and resolving employee grievances. Coordinates the work of the program, project, or function with other divisions or units. Interprets Court policies and procedures to staff and the public. Assists in preparing and administering the budget for the program, project, or function. Collects, compiles, verifies, and presents data. Performs other related duties as required. Qualifications

Education:

A Bachelors degree or four years of relevant work experience may be substituted for the required degree. Experience:

Four years of progressive experience in a relevant field, plus two years in a supervisory position that involves exercising independent judgment and discretion. Knowledge of: Principles of administration, supervision, training, and office management; Sufficient knowledge of rules and regulations pertaining to the Court setting; Legal forms and terminology; Relevant State statutes and Local Rules of Court; Functions, operating procedures, and relationships within the justice system including the Superior Court, law enforcement agencies, State and County Justice Partners, and union-represented employees. Ability to: Supervise, coordinate, train, evaluate, and direct staff and activities in a program, project, or function in the Court. Review legal documents and other documentary evidence for accuracy and compliance with legal procedures and formats. Interpret and apply specific procedural law, rules, and policies. Work well under pressure and meet multiple court deadlines. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing, managing stakeholder or vendor expectations. Maintain confidentiality. Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Working Conditions

The work environment is generally clean inside buildings with limited exposure to dust, fumes, odors, and noise. Incumbents may work under difficult and stressful conditions with frequent deadlines and the need to produce high-quality work under time constraints, as well as periodic contact with angry or confrontational individuals. The ability to work independently as well as closely with others is required. Essential Functions

Specific tasks and duties vary between assignments; the following are considered essential functions expected of the Deputy Court Manager classification: Frequent and ongoing use of a computer terminal to conduct advanced clerical functions and communications. Periodic, regular, and/or occasional contact with employees in other Court divisions, government agencies, the public and/or vendors, with the ability to respond to inquiries and requests. Periodic to regular lifting, walking, and carrying of files, documents, and other Court materials; ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs. Work with time constraints and under pressure in some situations. Physical Demands

Strength, dexterity, coordination, and ability to use a computer keyboard and read a video display terminal. Ability to listen to verbal requests from the public and court staff and respond appropriately. Dexterity and coordination to handle files and papers; occasional lifting up to 10 lbs.; handling reference books and other materials. Frequent need to reach for items above and below desk level, sometimes with a ladder or step-stool. Standing and sitting for long periods are periodically required. Examination:
