Job Description NetImpact Strategies, Inc. is seeking to hire Network Engineer - Level II to support a Federal Agency. Government clearance requirements for this role require candidates to maintain a Secret Clearance. Location: Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) Bethesda, MD.
Key Responsibilities:
Deploy and sustain new or existing information networks, such as local area networks (LAN), Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other communications networks.
Administer day-to-day network sustainment, integrity, availability, and security.
Perform network performance monitoring, capacity analysis, and tuning activities.
Conduct upgrades and maintenance to preserve network security and operational posture.
Create and maintain standard operating procedures, guides, and knowledge base documentation.
May assist architecture and engineering with evaluation, making recommendations and testing of network hardware and software products.
Collaborate with senior technical staff and stakeholders to implement solutions.
Assist with evaluating and testing new network hardware and software solutions.
Provide rotational after-hours and downtime/on-call support.
Respond to and resolve trouble tickets, including hands-on work in network data closets.
Support copper and fiber cabling projects, installations, and renovations.
Install, move, or maintain network equipment as required (lifting up to 40 pounds).
Use network management tools to monitor, troubleshoot, and update systems.
Complete site-required training and provide daily/weekly work status reports.
Participate in inventories and audits to maintain accurate records of equipment.
Ensure compliance with established federal IT security policies and standards.
Qualifications Required Qualifications and Certifications:
Ability to meet required government clearances: Tier 3 (T3) Investigation
Four (4) years of progressive experience demonstrating the required proficiency.
Bachelor's degree and/or equivalency.
IAT II certification (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP)
CE: Professional (or expert) level certificate for supported technology as approved by the COR.
Preferred Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and/or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications and Certifications:
Additional certifications in advanced networking or security technologies.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Visio.
Strong technical documentation and reporting skills.
Previous Federal Consulting Experience.
