Network Engineer IV — Location: US-DC-Washington DC

NetImpact Strategies, Inc. is seeking to hire a Network Engineer — Level IV to support a Federal Agency. Government clearance requirements for this role require candidates to maintain a Secret Clearance. Location: Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) Bethesda, MD.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and participate in the design, testing, upgrading, and integration of local area networks (LAN), Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), VoIP, intranets, extranets, and other networks to meet business requirements.
Interact with project management, ITD, and customers to ensure project plans are documented, updated, and completed on schedule.
Communicate with executives, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into operational processes.
Document engineering activities related to network build, configuration, testing, and deployment.
Coordinate changes including new implementations, upgrades, and version updates for existing networks.
Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard network infrastructure.
Perform network diagramming, modeling, analysis, and planning while evaluating emerging technologies.
Assist engineers with complex troubleshooting and coordinate with vendors when required.
Provide day-to-day operational and administrative support for networks in lab or production environments.
Apply expertise across multiple complex assignments, solve problems independently, and supervise or train staff when needed.
Provide after-hours on-call and downtime support on a rotational basis and respond to network issues by completing trouble tickets at all network data closets.
Able to work on feet for extended periods, install network equipment, perform cable reroutes and fiber splicing, lift up to 40 pounds, and directly support PMO and CTO.
Complete all required site training within stated timelines, maintain access to systems, and submit bi-weekly workload documentation along with daily/weekly reports to management.
Learn, monitor, manage, and update network management tools, develop skills to provide system-level support, and demonstrate strong time management abilities.
Qualifications Required Qualifications and Certifications:
Ability to meet required government clearances: Tier 3 Investigation.
Eight (8) years of progressive experience demonstrating the required proficiency.
Master's Degree and/or equivalency.
IAT II certification (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP).
CE: Professional (or expert) level certificate for supported technology as approved by the COR.
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or CCNP preferred and/or equivalent experience.
Proficient in English (written and spoken) and skilled in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Visio.
Preferred Qualifications and Certifications:
Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and technical documentation skills.
Experience providing direct support for PMO and CTO functions.
Previous Federal Consulting Experience.
