Overview
The Department of Neurobiology and Behavior at Stony Brook University invites applications for three new tenure-track faculty positions to lead research programs in neuroscience and participate in the Department's educational mission. One College of Arts and Sciences position is at the assistant professor level and one is at the associate/full professor level. There is also an open position for an assistant professor in the Renaissance School of Medicine. Responsibilities and expectations
Our Department is home to a diverse and collaborative group of basic and translational researchers. We seek exceptional and creative candidates with a PhD or MD/PhD, or foreign equivalent degree to establish and lead an innovative, laboratory-based research program. For all positions, candidates should have at least two years of postdoctoral research experience after their degree and strong academic credentials in a specific research field. For the associate/full professor position, a proven track record of securing funding is expected. Teaching experience is preferred for participation in the departmental educational mission and teaching assignments. Ideal candidates will supervise postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and undergraduate students in research, drawing on the broad range of expertise within our faculty for support and collaboration. We encourage applications from qualified researchers in any area of neuroscience, including but not limited to molecular, biochemical, metabolic, genetic, synaptic physiology, pharmacology, and systems neuroscience.
