Compensation:

A leading New York City law firm with a 50-year history of excellence in real estate law seeks a talented Commercial Real Estate Counsel to join its dynamic team. With a focus on high-profile projects that shape the city's skyline, the firm represents owners, developers, investors, and not-for-profits in complex transactions and disputes. This is an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with over 80 attorneys dedicated exclusively to real estate matters. Key Responsibilities:

Draft, negotiate, and review commercial leases, subleases, amendments, and related agreements for office, retail, industrial, and mixed-use properties. Advise clients on leasing strategies, compliance with zoning and land use regulations, and risk mitigation in commercial real estate transactions. Conduct due diligence for acquisitions, dispositions, and financings involving leased properties. Handle lease disputes, including litigation support, evictions, and alternative dispute resolution. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on development projects, including ground leases and build-to-suit arrangements. Stay abreast of evolving real estate laws, market trends, and industry best practices to provide proactive counsel. Mentor junior associates and contribute to firm-wide knowledge sharing. Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership in the New York State Bar (or eligibility for admission). 4-8 years of relevant experience in commercial real estate law, with a strong emphasis on commercial leasing (landlord and tenant side preferred). Proven track record in negotiating complex lease agreements and resolving leasing-related issues. Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills, with attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with New York City real estate markets and regulations is highly desirable.
