Overview Senior Environmental Analyst - Remote (Portfolio Management Oversight) reviews, analyzes, and evaluates environmentally focused and risk-based processes and reports needed to address potential environmental risks and liabilities associated with real estate lending transactions. This is done to reduce environmentally related operating losses and maintain maximum protection of the organization's assets and services. This individual will support the second line of defense in identifying environmental concerns and proposing recommendations to minimize risk associated with real estate.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

3-5 years of related environmental work experience; ASTM Phase I ESA experience preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering field or equivalent work experience.

The Difference You Make

Reviews ASTM Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), environmental questionnaires, regulatory databases, and other environmental due diligence reports to identify environmental risks and liabilities and associated adverse financial impacts on collateral value.

Maintains current working knowledge of emerging federal, state, and municipal environmental issues and their impact on potential environmental liabilities associated with loan transactions.

Prepares environmental review memoranda summarizing liabilities and recommending follow-up evaluations.

Assists with policy or procedure development to limit bank environmental liabilities associated with real estate collateralized and other loan transactions.

Manages projects to ensure timely completion of review memoranda.

Assists in development and management of the bank’s environmental consultant vendor listing.

Adjusts risk management policies, systems, and processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness within the department.

Evaluates the strengths and weaknesses of existing controls and provides recommendations for improvement.

Informs employees on environmental risk policies and guidelines to build a risk-aware culture and practice across the organization.

Interprets and applies procedures, ensures documenting analysis and maintaining records.

Operates as a point of contact for the department by responding to internal inquiries regarding environmental policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and project status updates.

What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering field or equivalent work experience.

3-5 years related environmental work experience; ASTM Phase I ESA experience preferred.

Ability to analyze environmental risk and provide recommendations and/or resolutions to minimize risk.

Ability to build and foster internal relationships.

Ability to change direction as project demand dictates.

Ability to communicate instructions effectively and clearly to others, summarize and articulate issues, and document findings clearly.

Ability to interpret, analyze and apply data/information.

Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.

Ability to stay abreast of industry best practices, procedures, and techniques.

Ability to summarize, document, and communicate information clearly.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Demonstrate practical and theoretical knowledge of risk principles, concepts, and policies.

Strong MS Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook) skills.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Strong quantitative capabilities and analytical skills, including an investigative mindset.

What Else You Need To Know The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.

Base Pay Range Minimum: 58,125.00 USD

Maximum: 102,500.00 USD
