Senior Programs Manager

The Senior Programs Manager will refine and coordinate programs across multiple homeless shelters within our Salvation Army network. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring consistent, high-quality services with a specific focus on enhancing client experiences, training staff in effective client engagement, case management, crisis intervention, and ensuring policy compliance. The ideal candidate will uphold and mentor teams in the Salvation Army Code of Conduct while driving program outcomes that prioritize client dignity and well-being. Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership Client Experience & Program Outcomes Training & Mentorship Policy & Compliance Leadership & Coordination Education and Work Experience

Bachelor's degree in social work, public administration, nonprofit management, or related field; Master's preferred 5+ years of experience in homeless services or related human services field 3+ years of management experience, preferably in a multi-site environment Demonstrated expertise in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques Experience developing and delivering staff training programs Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and client-centered approaches Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills Experience with program evaluation and outcome measurement Competencies

Strong commitment to the Salvation Army mission and values Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust with staff and clients Effective training and mentoring abilities Crisis management and conflict resolution expertise Cultural competence and sensitivity Ability to balance compassionate service with policy requirements Strong computer skills for internal digital systems. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to function with limited direct oversight and/or limited remote training; highly motivated and a self-starter Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner, prioritize multiple requests and demands High level of problem-solving skills, critical thinking, sound judgment, and decision making Experience in budget management and resource optimization Work Environment

Travel between multiple shelter locations required (reliable transportation necessary) Some evening and weekend work may be required for program operations or events Must be comfortable in shelter environments and working directly with individuals experiencing homelessness Physical Requirements

Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead Ability to operate telephone, and a desktop or laptop computer Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Must be able to drive a motor vehicle and be certified to drive with The Salvation Army Works on many projects at once in a semi-open office environment with interruptions and noises Licenses and Certifications

Driver license (preferred) Trauma informed care; Assertive engagement; first aid and CPR; non-violent crisis intervention; peer support; safe driving; civil rights training; bloodborne pathogens training; de-escalation training The Salvation Army does have a dress code that includes professional dress which is appropriate to the work environment and reflects well on the organization.
