Position Summary The Senior Product Marketing Manager (Coffee) builds and manages the Nespresso USA coffee portfolio that maximizes brand equity, drives business growth, and enhances the customer experience. Key responsibilities include the development and execution of communication and go-to-market plans for coffee, overseeing strategic pricing and channel strategies and driving innovation across the Nespresso Original and Vertuo systems in the US Market. The Senior Product Marketing Manager also collaborates closely with the Nespresso HQ on new product development and product campaigns to amplify the coffee portfolio. This is a People Leader role that manages a team of three who will support with the evolving needs of the business. This is also a hybrid-based opportunity, working 2 days a week onsite (Manhattan Herald Square) and the rest remotely.
Responsibilities
Innovation and Product Roadmap: Collaborate with the US and HQ coffee teams to develop the US coffee innovation roadmap by identifying growth opportunities, proposing consumer-centric concepts to address spaces, and validating concepts through research. Build the 3-year innovation pipeline, including new concept creation and coffee portfolio animation through consumer and shopper communications. Conduct thorough market research and analyze consumer insights to understand consumer behavior, market trends, and the competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities and inform portfolio decisions.
Business Planning and Execution: Develops and executes the go-to-market strategies for new coffee launches, ensuring alignment across marketing, sales, and supply chain functions. Manages the development and execution of a strong, cross-functional product plan which contributes to the long-term market business strategy and is accountable for portfolio performance. Ensures alignment across all channels (Retail, Customer Contact Center and Ecommerce) for product launches, pricing and positioning. Represents the coffee team in monthly and annual business planning meetings. Monitors and analyzes performance metrics, such as sales data and consumer feedback, to assess branding effectiveness and drive data-driven improvements.
Coffee Portfolio Management: Oversees the management of the US coffee product portfolio, including product lifecycle management from ideation to discontinuation. Liaises with global headquarters to share insights and best practices, ensuring local strategies align with global brand initiatives. Builds and maintains relationships with external partners, including agencies and vendors, to enhance marketing efforts. Develops and maintains a consumer segmentation strategy for the portfolio that incorporates consumer needs and tensions.
Budget Management: Manages an annual budget for the coffee launches, local research and monitors/enforces schedules and costs.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
7+ years of professional work experience in Marketing or Product Marketing, preferably within the CPG industry.
2-3+ years of People Leadership experience required, including hiring, training, coaching and developing a high performing team.
Demonstrated fluency in MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint).
Understanding of key drivers of brand/product P&L and how to execute them.
Solid experience in new product/brand launches or renovations.
Strong understanding of market research and insight and ability to leverage into brand development and activation strategies.
Excellent communication (oral and written), organizational and stakeholder management skills with cross-functional collaboration ability.
Strong category knowledge or experience across multiple categories enabling flexibility and fast adaptation.
Excellent presentation skills with the ability to articulate key data and provide data-driven recommendations.
Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision and to be agile with strong listening and project management skills.
Willingness to travel up to 10% based on team and business needs.
Compensation and Benefits The approximate pay range for this position is $180,000 to $200,000. The pay range provided is a good faith estimate at the time of posting and final compensation may vary based on knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location. Nestlé offers performance-based incentives and a competitive total rewards package, including a 401k with company match, healthcare coverage, and other benefits.
