This is a pending placement role. Which means that a campus placement will be assigned upon hire. Placement could be at any one of our 6 campuses. About the Dean of Culture Role
As a Dean of Culture, your primary role is to build systems and structures that create the conditions and campus community to drive exceptional student experience and academic outcomes that equip all students with the skills and confidence to pursue the paths they choose — college, career, and beyond. Deans of Culture support and manage proactive, positive systems that create joyful, rigorous, identity-affirming schools (for example, whole school Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports) and coordinate responsive systems aligned with our values. They partner with the School Principal and Assistant Principal of Culture to lead behavior and culture, and they cultivate a participatory, achievement-focused, and outcomes-driven school culture that honors the multi-faceted identities of our students. They lead and build capacity of teachers and teacher leaders to implement and develop excellent classroom communities, with focus on learning, continuous improvement, and high expectations, including restorative practices. The Dean of Culture partners with Deans of Instruction, the Principal, and the leadership team to develop teacher skills in classroom management and to implement school-wide expectations. They create and oversee co-curricular activities that bridge culture, community, and academics and foster caregiver and community engagement. This is a full-time administrative exempt position reporting to the Assistant Principal of Culture (APC). About KIPP

Such as: internalizing and preparing for lessons, preparing for O3s/coaching, preparing for meetings, coaching, PD, reading and internalizing written communication, etc. Meet professional obligations support processes and protocols for enhancing school culture Work with APC to modify rituals, systems and practices for the overall betterment of the school Manage, evaluate, develop, and coach Restorative Practices Coordinators or Behavior Specialists / Interventions Oversee Grade Level Chairs and support alignment, MTSS, data analysis, and meetings Ensure accountable implementation of school-wide systems (PBIS, MTSS, classroom behavior) Evaluate whole school performance data to improve school-wide cultural practices, with attention to Multilingual Learners and Students with Disabilities Partner with AP of Instruction, AP of Culture, and Deans of Instruction to ensure consistent implementation of whole-school systems Uphold campus expectations and coach Grade Level Chairs’ implementation of culture plans Develop teachers’ capacity in classroom management and student culture Support teachers with student accountability and discipline matters Co-manage and co-lead summer orientation sessions Manage responses to parent concerns about behavior and culture School Operations Manage academic and cultural programming in all designated grade levels Coordinate logistics for end-of-year trips and team/family trips Co-manage Summer School (if applicable) Co-plan and lead Data Days Co-manage Detention with Leadership Team Co-manage duties (arrival, dismissal, lunch) with Leadership Team Co-lead Saturday School with Leadership Team (if applicable) Family Engagement Work with Family Engagement Coordinator to educate and build relationships with families and students Oversee family classes and participate in parent meetings Attend all parent/family engagement meetings Student Identity Development & Culturally Responsive Teaching Collaborate to create professional development on culturally sustaining and culturally responsive teaching Plan events to celebrate diversity Ensure visual culture reflects priorities and student identities Student Culture (internal document) About a Successful Candidate — Skills and Qualifications Bachelor's degree (required) Spanish bilingual (preferred) At least 2 years of relevant experience in school culture management (required) At least 2 years of K-12 teaching experience with a track record serving underserved students (required) Past experience leading adults in a school environment (preferred) A full understanding and commitment to an Exceptional Student Experience Outstanding organizational and communication skills Ability to manage ambiguity and multiple priorities Proactive problem solver with
