Job Title Research Speech Language Pathologist (Part-time) – Right Hemisphere Emotion, Cognition, and Recovery (RHECO) Lab, Department of Neurology, Georgetown University Medical Center.

Responsibilities

Conduct multi-hour one-on-one assessment sessions with research participants.

Assist with MRI data collection by ensuring participant safety, comfort, and compliance.

Train other team members on how to interact with participants who have communication impairments.

Provide input on testing procedures and batteries to optimize assessments for participants who have communication impairments.

Assist with participant-facing administrative tasks, such as eligibility screening, organizing transportation to and from the study, reimbursement, and recruitment and retention.

Work Interactions The position reports to the lab’s Principal Investigator, Dr. Anna Greenwald, and collaborates with the lab’s Recruitment Specialist, Lab Manager, and Research Specialist. It also interfaces with SLPs in related labs to facilitate referral and unify procedures across labs.

Requirements and Qualifications

Advanced degree in Speech Language Pathology with a minimum of seven years of clinical and/or research experience, and at least two years of experience with stroke survivors in an academic research setting.

Ability to pass MRI safety training and physically assist research participants with transfers onto the MRI scanner bed.

Ability to conduct computer-based cognitive assessments and to appropriately handle Protected Health Information.

Pay Range The projected salary or hourly pay range is $26.26 - $48.32. Compensation is determined by factors including qualifications, experience, education, skills, certifications, and university needs.
