In this position, the Engineering Technician will support Software Engineering teams by prototyping integrated testing platforms (HIL Racks, Test Benches, etc.), flashing software and troubleshooting system faults.

This position is a hybrid role (onsite four days per week for candidates near a Ford hub, remote for non-local candidates). Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Responsibilities

Conduct software testing and validation to verify system performance and reliability.

Troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware integration issues.

Collaborate with software developers, engineers, and other technicians to build software development benches.

Familiarity with Linux and shell commands.

Ability to interpret network and wiring schematics.

Ability to track work through Jira and other Atlassian tools.

Maintain a strong understanding of electrical principles and automotive standards.

Build and assemble testing racks and benches according to engineering specifications.

Fabricate and assemble wiring harnesses for testing platforms.

Utilize 3D printing to create custom components for test benches and fixtures.

Maintain and repair existing test equipment and infrastructure.

Contribute to the design and improvement of testing platforms.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

2 year degree in Automotive Technology or relevant subjects

5+ years of experience supporting electric vehicle architecture & integration development

3+ years of experience in software integration and testing, preferably in the automotive industry.

Proven experience in building and assembling electrical or mechanical systems.

Experience with hand tools, power tools, and basic fabrication techniques.

Experience using vehicle network interface tools (Vector, Peak, Intrepid, etc)

Hands-on experience building and launching automotive products and vehicle prototyping

Experience with Microsoft Office, Confluence, and Jira applications

Strong written and verbal communication skills

An eagerness to work in a fast paced cross-functional environment

A system approach to design and development with the desire and curiosity to strive for exceptional delivery execution and continuous improvement

Experience with 3D printing software and hardware

Familiarity with electrical wiring standards and best practices

Basic knowledge of CAD software for component design.
