Luxury Home Building About the Company: This privately held design-build firm has earned a reputation as a leader in its field, known for timeless design, craftsmanship, and a client experience that sets the bar in the industry. Over the last four years, during one of the most disruptive times in the market, the company not only sustained but accelerated its growth — strengthening processes, elevating standards, and building a foundation for long-term momentum. What truly defines this firm is its culture. Leaders and team members alike describe it as family-oriented, values-driven, professional, and collaborative. People here don’t just talk about values — they live them. Integrity, accountability, and care for both clients and colleagues are woven into every decision and every project. This is a company where passion for the craft meets discipline in execution. It is a place where belief in people and belief in excellence fuel growth, innovation, and the drive to continually raise the standard. The Opportunity:
COO / Integrator The COO will step into a thriving, values-led organization and serve as the operational anchor — bringing stability, clarity, and repeatable systems that allow the leadership team to keep building on their momentum. Above all else, this role requires an exceptional people leader. The right candidate has a proven track record of managing, empowering, and aligning teams. They know how to step into an organization, elevate its people, and build the trust, accountability, and culture that take a company to the next level. This role is about amplifying what already works. The COO will unify and empower department heads, ensure alignment across multiple divisions, and strengthen the company’s ability to scale — without losing the culture and standards that make it exceptional. Key Responsibilities
Lead & Empower People
Serve as the direct leader of department heads, building trust and accountability across construction, design, cabinetry, admin, and pre-construction teams. Coach, mentor, and develop leaders — helping them grow while keeping teams aligned and engaged. Strengthen the company’s culture by living its values and ensuring they’re reflected in daily leadership and decision-making. Strengthen Systems & Structure
Build and refine the operational systems, processes, and rhythms that allow the company to scale sustainably. Ensure that tools, SOPs, and best practices are not just implemented, but actually adopted and embraced by the team. Bring clarity to complexity, simplifying workflows and ensuring that accountability structures support — not burden — the business. Ensure Capacity & Flow
Oversee scheduling and capacity planning, ensuring projects move smoothly from design through construction and cabinetry. Anticipate and address bottlenecks before they disrupt workflow, keeping teams coordinated and clients confident. Support Financial & Strategic Alignment
Partner with the President and accounting team to connect operational execution with financial goals. Track and communicate key performance metrics, helping the leadership team make proactive adjustments. Use sound judgment and data to balance growth with sustainability. Uphold Standards & Client Experience
Ensure that the company’s reputation for timeless design, craftsmanship, and service excellence is reflected in every client interaction. Protect and elevate the brand by holding teams accountable to milestones, quality standards, and communication expectations. Integrate Across Divisions
Serve as the operational bridge across all current and future divisions, aligning shared resources such as marketing, finance, and administration. Lead strategic initiatives and special projects, turning vision into reality without compromising day-to-day stability. Qualifications
Mandatory Skills & Experience
Proven People Leadership:
Demonstrated success managing and empowering teams, with a track record of building trust, accountability, and alignment across departments. Culture & Team Development:
Experience stepping into organizations and elevating team performance through clear communication, coaching, and systems that stick. Operational Leadership:
Ability to design and implement systems, training programs, and accountability structures that support growth and improve execution. Change Management:
Brings calm, clarity, and steady leadership during periods of transition, complexity, or rapid growth. Financial & Business Acumen:
Competence with budgets, projections, and performance metrics to align operational strategy with financial goals. Preferred Background
5–10 years in senior leadership, operations, or general management. Experience in construction, design-build, or related industries is a plus but not required — the greater priority is proven ability to lead people and scale organizations. Familiarity with project management/workflow tools (e.g., Buildertrend, CoConstruct, or similar) is helpful. Comfortable engaging with high-expectation clients and maintaining brand standards. Ideal Traits
A relational leader who knows how to hold people accountable while maintaining trust. Growth-oriented — eager to help an already successful company keep building momentum. Balances high standards with a people-first, values-driven approach. Willing to live in or relocate to South Carolina. Success in this Role
The COO provides proactive, repeatable stability for the leadership team. Systems, training, and accountability are consistent across divisions. The company’s culture and client experience remain as strong as its growth trajectory. Salary Range of 180K-240K. Very dependent on experience.
