Overview
The UHealth system at the University of Miami has an exciting opportunity for a full time Director, Finance Transformation - Central in the UHealth Finance Department.
CORE JOB SUMMARY The Director, Finance Transformation- Central (H) provides strategic leadership in driving finance process transformation across UHealth/MSOM. This role articulates the vision, shapes strategy, and leads the successful execution of key initiatives that optimize financial operations and performance. The Director partners with senior leadership to design and implement process improvements, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and long-term sustainability. Moreover, the incumbent takes accountability for project management, performance enhancement, and stakeholder engagement, and leads cross-functional teams to deliver measurable results, enhance efficiency, and strengthen financial stewardship. This role crafts and delivers executive-level communications and presentations, and ensures transparency, alignment, and momentum across all levels of the organization. Evaluates current practices, identifies opportunities, and embeds best-in-class processes, enabling scalable, effective, and future-ready finance operations.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Identifies and prioritizes frameworks for management financial process transformation programs.
Provides leadership in project management of the processes, systems, and data needed to execute finance transformation programs.
Communicates and presents action plans and proposals to leaders and operational units.
Serves as resource to others through comprehension and documentation of financial processes, data flow, and landscape of the health system to appropriately identify and advance "cases for change."
Strengthens the culture of continuous improvement through team building, development of staff, and provision and modeling of leadership behavior in the department.
Collaborates with other areas/units e.g., finance, technology, and business leaders to define and execute prioritized finance transformation programs.
Maintains current knowledge of new trends and innovations in the field, including knowledge of finance and healthcare specific developments that may affect value-added services.
Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance or relevant field
Experience: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience

Financial Management: Ensures fiscal responsibility, and optimization of financial performance.

Team Leadership: Ability to build and lead high-performing teams, manage complex projects, and ensure successful project delivery.
Technology & Analytics: Understanding of technology, data analytics, and performance measurement to drive strategic decisions and identify opportunities.
Communication: Ability to influence others, articulate strategic vision, and ensure clear and persuasive communication.
Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS Strategic Leadership & Transformation
Lead the FP&A department’s finance transformation agenda, driving initiatives that enhance efficiency, standardization, and scalability across UHCorp.
Define and implement best-in-class FP&A processes, tools, and methodologies to enable consistency, harmonization, and accuracy in financial planning and reporting.
Partner with executive leadership to align finance transformation objectives with UHCorp’s overall corporate strategy.
Process Optimization & Efficiency Gains
Assess current FP&A workflows, identify gaps, and redesign processes to reduce manual effort, cycle times, and redundancies.
Implement automation, digital tools, and advanced analytics to optimize forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.
Establish continuous improvement frameworks to sustain efficiency and performance gains.
