Overview

Director of Business Transformation - Operations This role is responsible for leading Lean transformation by developing and deploying Lean Business System standards and methods across the organization while improving operational performance. It drives operational process rigor and performance in Labs, Logistics, and Patient Service Centers across regions, working with cross-functional teams to develop actionable roadmaps that increase efficiency across operational business processes and sub-processes. The ideal candidate will have experience in operations from various industries and apply lean manufacturing and change management methods to transform the organization into an engaging continuous improvement culture. Location and travel This position may be hybrid from Quest locations including Boston, Tampa, Houston, Dallas, Chantilly, VA, San Juan Capistrano, CA, Las Vegas, Lenexa, KS, and West Hills, CA. This is a national role with up to 50% travel. Responsibilities

Lead the development and sustainability of a Lean Business System that is process-based with data analytics and defined DMS operating mechanisms. Engage with senior operational leadership and teams to adopt Lean Business System standards and identify process improvements with actionable roadmaps to improve productivity and margin expansion. Lead a portfolio of complex strategic projects/Kaizen events through all stages (charter, prework, implementation, post-event sustainment). Drive cultural transformation by promoting problem solving and empowering employee ownership of continuous improvement. Lead and/or coach teams in problem solving techniques (PSP, A3, PDCA, 8-D, DIVE) to develop a sustaining culture of continuous improvement. Lead, coach, and facilitate teams in Customer VOC-based Value Stream Map activities to improve business value using Lean tools (standard work, visual management, DMS, 5S, SMED, kanban, mistake proofing, TPM, etc.). Support new site starts and expansions with guidance on operational processes, leveraging 3P/Design for Manufacturability principles. Provide and facilitate effective professional-level training on Lean methodologies using adult learning principles. Facilitate teams to generate creative low-cost solutions using Lean tools (7-Ways, Process-at-a-Glance, etc.). Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements as well as internal standards for safety, quality, and environmental sustainability. Qualifications

Required Work Experience 10+ years of operational leadership applying Lean methodologies. Experience designing and leading a Lean Business System in a well-established continuous improvement organization. Successfully managed multi-million dollar budgets. Preferred Work Experience Direct experience with Toyota Production System, Danaher Business System, Shingijutsu Kaizen. Physical And Mental Requirements Ability to visit and interact with office employees and work teams directly at Lab sites, logistics hubs, and patient service centers. Technical / Job Specific Knowledge Deep knowledge and experience applying Lean methodologies in various operational environments, with real operational Lean examples. Demonstrates Lean leadership by leading multiple Kaizen events to achieve operational results. Skills Excellent written and verbal communication, results-oriented, and collaborative. Ability to diagnose current business processes and articulate an ideal target condition using Lean/Kata coaching methods. Experience applying continuous flow using takt time, standard work, and single-piece flow. Ability to assess business performance from a general manager’s perspective and provide insights for improvement. Ability to prioritize and self-manage multiple projects. Strong communication skills across multiple levels of the organization and effective change management. Bachelor’s Degree in Business or technical field; Master’s degree is beneficial.
