We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Safety Manager to join our team in the Heavy Civil Construction industry. This role is integral to our commitment to safety and the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all our projects are executed in compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines. With a primary focus on preventing accidents and ensuring a safe work environment for all employees, this position serves as a key link between project operations, field staff, and the executive team. The Safety Manager will be instrumental in maintaining our reputation for safety, and will play a critical role in ensuring the well-being of our employees. Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and manage safety programs and protocols to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations including OSHA. Conduct regular site safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards. Provide guidance and coaching to project and site management teams on matters related to health and safety. Conduct risk assessments, accident investigations, and safety training programs. Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures. Ensure all employees and contractors are trained and knowledgeable about safety procedures and policies. Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety records, reports, and documentation. Develop strategies to improve safety performance and reduce accidents and injuries. Liaise with regulatory bodies and represent the company in safety-related meetings and events. Continually stay up-to-date with latest safety laws and regulations affecting the construction industry. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science or related field. Minimum of 7 years' experience in a safety management role within the heavy civil construction industry. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification is strongly preferred. In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards specific to the heavy civil construction industry. Proven ability to develop and implement safety policies and training programs. Proficient in conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and accident investigations. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels of the organization. Proficient in using MS Office Suite and safety management software. Ability to travel to various job sites as needed. Legal & Equal Opportunity
