Overview
This is a unique opportunity for an Employment Litigation Associate to join the firm’s expanding Labor and Employment practice and assume a major role in litigation representing private and public entity employers. The ideal candidate will have 4-7 years of substantive experience in employment litigation with a desire for trial or arbitration experience, including discrimination, harassment and retaliation claims; FLSA and wage and hour claims; legal research; drafting motions, pleadings and legal memoranda; taking and defending depositions; managing discovery-related activities; drafting EEOC position statements and DFEH responses; and conducting witness interviews and depositions. The successful candidate will also have experience advising employers on federal and state employment law compliance, including COVID-related laws, ADA/FEHA compliance and disability accommodation; FMLA, CFRA, PDL and other employee leave compliance. Experience in labor relations, including labor negotiations, grievances and arbitrations, MMBA compliance, PERB/NLRB litigation and administrative hearings and appeals, is advantageous. Qualified candidates must have excellent academic credentials, strong analytical, research and writing skills, a solid work ethic, and dedication to superior client service. Candidates should have knowledge of California employment law and be able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative, client-focused environment. We offer a hybrid work schedule and compensation details below. The health and safety of Meyers Nave employees is our priority. Salary range : $160,000 – $200,000 for this California-based role, representing a good-faith estimate of the range at posting. Actual compensation depends on factors including experience, qualifications, skill set and office location.
