Job: Program Coordinator/Organizer, Imperial Valley office and worker center project
Under the direction of the Center's Executive Director, the incumbent will identify community needs, develop innovative programs, lead day-to-day operations of the Imperial labor center, organize outreach events, collaborate with community partners, and maintain records and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Identify community needs and develop programs that support worker interests and organizational goals.
Lead day-to-day operations of the Imperial labor center, including planning, execution, and evaluation of programs and initiatives.
Organize, promote, and facilitate outreach events educating workers about rights, resources, and available services.
Collaborate with community partners to enhance event effectiveness and reach.
Maintain accurate records of activities and participation; prepare reports for stakeholders.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with community organizations, labor unions, and partners (e.g., EDD, OSHA) in the Imperial Valley; engage with workers to mobilize support for labor rights and social justice issues.
Implement organizing strategies that empower workers and promote collective action.
Contribute to building a Labor Center that prioritizes education and research as social justice, with broad collaboration among faculty, staff, students, and community partners.
Qualifications
Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish required.
Experience delivering community educational programs; experience in program coordination, outreach events, and community engagement.
Ability to produce and deliver programs; proficiency with technology and social media for outreach.
Experience with needs assessment and knowledge of educational program content and objectives.
Strong knowledge of labor rights, social justice issues, and community organizing principles.
Knowledge of current community education programs and trends; good analytical, reading, written and verbal communication, and presentation skills.
Ability to establish and maintain relationships with diverse community members and organizations.
Proficiency with business software (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
Ability to work independently and in a team; strong organizational and time management skills.

Pay and Benefits Pay Transparency Act: Annual Full Pay Range: $51,000 - $84,800 (prorated if appointment
