The Director, Planning and Replenishment is the business process owner for planning and replenishment of centrally ordered trade merchandise ($10B scope growing to $16B) of several merchandise departments. Responsibilities include building and executing planning and replenishment strategies, development and maintenance of SKU demand profiles, demand forecasting and managing to target inventory levels, ordering and tracking, balancing stock across stores and distribution centers, specification and implementation of new inventory management and replenishment systems, and analysis and reporting. The role aims to deliver the right product to the right place at the right time using repeatable processes to optimize inventory position while meeting customer demand. Key metrics include improving in-stock, driving inventory turns, and improving forecasting accuracy. The role will lead very large-scale projects spanning multiple business areas, including project planning and execution, fiscal management/ROI, process improvements, people development, and living our values. 30% Build strong relationships with business partners and actively support cross-functional initiatives to drive improved overall business performance 20% Strategy development/planning: Partner with functional and operating leadership to drive business-specific strategies focused on consistent, repeatable processes to optimize inventory position, profit enhancement, and operating effectiveness 15% Develop and support technology development/solutions for process improvement 20% Execute inventory management activities using metrics to track and improve performance 15% Coach and develop a team of direct reports Direct Manager/Direct Reports
Vice President - Inventory Planning and Replenishment Accountable for the management of a department or functional group through subordinate supervisors/managers and for all personnel issues including selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development of subordinates Travel Requirements
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time Physical Requirements
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position; on rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles Working Conditions
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable Minimum Qualifications
Must be eighteen years of age or older Must be legally permitted to work in the United States Preferred Qualifications
BA/BS degree preferred Previous retail experience in inventory management Understanding of inventory management principles APICS Certified Education
Minimum Education: High school diploma and/or GED Preferred Education: No additional education Experience
