Overview

This position will offer you the ability to directly apply your knowledge of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design. As a member of an engineering and design team, you will work on a range of industrial, power, oil and gas facilities. Responsibilities

Project responsibilities will include creating calculations, document designs, and specifications. You will conduct structural analyses, including loading conditions such as wind, seismic, blast, and pressurization. Guide junior-level engineers and designers in structural engineering design efforts, including coordinating detailed design phases for all aspects of structural engineering work. Work on challenging assignments that involve investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide variety of structural engineering issues. Develop integrated structural designs and perform supporting calculations for the planned work. Prepare technical specifications for structural materials. Perform independent reviews of work performed by others, including calculations and drawing preparation. Coordinate and provide guidance to other engineers, project managers, client personnel, and suppliers to ensure a complete and timely design. Review existing facilities to propose upgrades and replacements, and present findings and recommendations to clients and peers. There is potential to travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant site locations for construction coordination and field verification of designs. This position is based on a hybrid work schedule and will require in-office work 3 days per week. Qualifications

We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position. Essential skills and experience: BSCE (MSCE preferred) from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program. Six or more years of experience as a member of a project team in the design of industrial, power, oil and gas facilities, focusing on the analysis of steel structures and concrete foundations and supports for new facilities, or modifications or replacements for existing facilities. Experience in writing and providing support documentation for Structural Engineering calculations. Technically knowledgeable in the practical application of structural engineering including analysis for structural supports, loads, and design integrity. Proficiency with MathCad, STAAD PRO, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS. Familiarity with design codes and standards such as IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI 318. Proficiency with MS Office applications. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. This position may require occasional travel. PE License required. Valued but not required skills and experience: Construction and start-up experience is a plus. Awards & Benefits
