As a Data Scientist in the brand ads quality team, you will leverage a quantitative repertoire spanning operations research, game theory, statistics, and machine learning to build optimization solutions that help advertisers allocate more budget to YouTube, where user engagement is strongest. You will be involved in activities such as relevance targeting, creative recommendation, bidding optimization, and impact measurement. You will own projects from solution design to production launch and collaborate with Software Engineers and Project Managers. Responsibilities

Collaborate with stakeholders in cross-projects and team settings to identify and clarify business or product questions to answer. Translate and refine questions into tractable analyses, evaluation metrics, or mathematical models. Design and evaluate models to express and solve defined problems with limited precedent, using custom data infrastructure or existing data models as appropriate. Gather information, goals, priorities, and context around questions, as well as the existing and upcoming data infrastructure. Own data gathering, extraction, and compilation across sources using relevant tools (e.g., SQL, R, Python). Re-format, restructure, or validate data to ensure quality and readiness for analysis. Qualifications

Minimum qualifications: Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. 3 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or performing statistical analysis, or a PhD degree. 3 years of work experience with Online Marketplace Design, Adtech, and Causal Inference. Preferred qualifications: Master's or PhD degree in a quantitative field such as Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Business Science. 5 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or performing statistical analysis, or a PhD degree. Compensation and Benefits

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. In this role you will work on industry-leading optimization solutions to help advertisers optimize YouTube ad spend, measure impact, and improve return on investment.
