Appointment Percent: 90%. Union: HX Contract. Total Openings: 2. Work Schedule: Days, 12 hour shifts, Monday-Sunday. Extended Deadline: Thu 9/25/2025. Pay: Hourly range $73.40 - $96.69. Annual Full Pay Range: $153,259 - $201,889. The position is subject to the UC San Diego vaccination policy and related health requirements where applicable. Responsibilities

Provide primary medical management for oncology/BMT patients under the direction of the BMT attending physician and APP Supervisor. Lead by example in professional image and leadership, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team to promote consistent medical management across the health care continuum. Perform specialized procedures including bone marrow biopsy, lumbar puncture, and skin biopsy. Present patient cases during daily rounds and weekly BMT Clinical meetings. Provide patient/family and staff education; support the development and revision of BMT divisional policies and procedures. Participate in and/or initiate research; engage in community outreach and networking with community physicians and other health care professionals. May provide care to BMT patients in the outpatient center at Moores Cancer Center. Develop and expand role responsibilities as patient and system needs change. Minimum Qualifications

Graduate from a physician assistant program approved by ARC-PA. California PA license; current PA Certification from NCCPA. BLS/CPR and ACLS at time of hire with commitment to obtain ART within six months of hire date. Minimum one year recent work experience as a licensed PA in Oncology, BMT, or adult critical care. Thorough knowledge of BMT processes and hematologic cancers; understanding of lab results and patient pathology. Ability to address medical and psychosocial needs of oncology patients; strong leadership and teamwork skills. Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to function as part of an interdisciplinary team. Comfort with group teaching and willingness to engage in community outreach. Preferred Qualifications

One to two years of PA experience in inpatient Hem/Onc/BMT. Knowledge of chemotherapy administration and common BMT medications. Experience in quality improvement; experience with Clinical Trials and identifying trial-eligible patients. Special Conditions

Must be able to work varied hours, days, shifts, on-call, and locations based on hospital needs. Employment is subject to criminal background check and pre-employment physical; must obtain UCSD Medical Staff privileges.
