Overview Remote opportunity: Complaint Resolution Officer (CRO) at UC San Diego Temporary Employment Services (TES). The CRO reports to the Title IX Officer/Director of OPHD and is responsible for responding to complaints of harassment and discrimination. The position involves intake, informal resolution, and formal investigation under general direction to ensure processes are fair, impartial, and compliant with University policy and applicable law.

Responsibilities

Conduct impartial intake, consultation, conflict resolution, and investigation of harassment and discrimination complaints.

Provide problem-solving and guidance in response to inquiries from students, staff, faculty, affiliates, and healthcare employees.

Make recommendations to the Director or appropriate administrators regarding outcomes or policy improvements.

Train managers and supervisors on UC nondiscrimination policies and related obligations.

Develop, implement, and evaluate education and training programs on harassment and discrimination prevention, including state-mandated sexual harassment prevention training for supervisors.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/trainings; Juris Doctor or advanced degree preferred.

Demonstrated experience conducting investigations, including interviewing, gathering/analyzing evidence, and writing investigation reports; experience in a compliance function within an academic setting preferred.

Experience investigating a high caseload of sexual harassment or other sensitive allegations in an empathetic and confidential manner.

Strong skills in conflict resolution, problem-solving, screening, interviewing, advising, and investigation; strong analytical abilities.

Ability to present information clearly in writing and verbally; ability to suggest practical, effective recommendations; strong research and analytical skills.

Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with campus administrators, staff, faculty, and students; ability to assess procedural, policy, or ethical concerns in complex matters.

Sensitivity to interact with diverse constituencies to identify, investigate, and facilitate problem resolution and educate the University community effectively.

Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.

Position designated "Confidential" under HEERA.

CANRA Mandated Reporter; required to report known or suspected child abuse or neglect and sign required statement prior to employment.

Compensation, Duration, and Location

Anticipated Duration: 12 months

Pay: $50 - $55 / hour, including paid holidays and vacation/sick leave; full medical insurance available.

Location: Hybrid remote with 1 day on-site per week at the La Jolla campus.

Work schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM; some evenings and weekends may be required.

Job Details Pay Transparency Act: Annual Full Pay Range: $88,000 - $161,600 (prorated if appointment

Note: Factors in compensation include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure/certifications, and organizational needs. The posted range may be broader due to internal equity and bargaining agreements.
