Salary:
$150,000 - $215,000 per year Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide direct assistance during cardiac and thoracic surgeries. Engage in preoperative and postoperative patient management. Perform patient assessments, execute diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans. Offer intraoperative support with tasks such as vein harvesting and first-assisting during complex procedures. Manage patient recovery and handle postoperative needs including wound care and patient education. Ensure detailed and thorough documentation within patient electronic medical records. Maintain collaborative relationships with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Partake in rounds, patient consultations, and follow-up care, advocating for excellent continuity of patient care. Minimum Position Qualifications: Certified Physician Assistant (PA) with active licensure in Washington or eligibility for state licensure. A minimum of 5 years of direct experience in cardiac surgery. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications. Demonstrated ability to manage complex surgical cases and decision-making skills. Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills to effectively work within a healthcare team. Critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to perform in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency in endoscopic vein harvesting is highly preferred. Experience in leading a team or training staff is advantageous. Advanced knowledge of the latest cardiac care techniques and technologies. Skills: Expertise in the use of medical software for patient care management. Proven skills in patient assessment and critical care post-surgery. Ability in conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests. Excellent surgical assistance capabilities. Ability to educate patients and their families on postoperative care and lifestyle adjustments.
