Cubic Defence Job Opportunity Cubic is a global technology company delivering transportation and defense solutions. This role is with Cubic Defense, focusing on software engineering project management and technical leadership for software programs. Job Summary

Manages and implements software engineering projects ensuring conformance with plans, policies, procedures, budgets, and schedules. Provides technical advice and consultation. Plans, conducts, and technically directs and tracks the progress of projects. Administers budgets, schedules, and performance standards. Works under general supervision with substantial decision-making authority. Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities Oversees the plans, designs, and development of software programs Monitors the development of software requirements and specifications; supports program reviews and audits Manages software engineering staff; motivates, delegates, coaches, and trains subordinates; enforces best practices Prepares personnel for higher levels of responsibility; provides guidance aligned with company goals and policies Establishes and maintains work priorities, schedules, and software engineering resource plans Allocates software engineering resources to project teams; collaborates with functional leads Oversees performance evaluations and personnel actions within the software engineering department Manages cost and schedule performance for sub-cost center activities; assists in budgeting Acts as liaison with managers and customer representatives regarding projects, scheduling, and contractual clarification Advises staff on meeting schedules and resolving technical or cost problems Ensures conformance with configuration management requirements Provides software engineering cost estimates and Basis Of Estimation (BOE) for proposals Maintains costing information, status reporting, and subcontract management Analyzes new software and hardware compatibility; conducts technical briefings and meetings Participates in customer contract negotiations Supports proposal development with technical and cost input Keeps abreast of new technologies and techniques; maintains software engineering metrics and quality data Supports ISO process documentation and participates in quality improvement activities

Minimum Job Requirements

Ability to obtain a Security Clearance Requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelors degree; or 6 years with a Masters degree; or 3 years with a PhD; or equivalent experience Able to prioritize work and complete multiple tasks under deadlines and budget guidelines Experience creating and maintaining software performance, quality metrics, risk management, and development environments including CI/CD Strong communication skills with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams Proficiency with programming languages such as C/C++/.NET or other development languages Experience with Jira, Jenkins, Confluence, Bitbucket, and static analysis tools Ability to interpret technical contract requirements and analyze complex software engineering problems

The Cubic pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Other factors such as responsibilities, education, experience, skills, and internal equity may influence offers. Pay Range $140,000.00 - $180,000.00 + benefits Worker Type Employee Seniority level Mid-Senior level
