Overview As an LPN Clinic Lead Nurse, you will supervise and mentor LPNs and support staff, oversee patient care, ensure high standards, collaborate with the medical team, maintain a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and assist with administrative duties to ensure smooth clinic operation.

Responsibilities

Triage patients’ immediate medical needs and assess for appropriate screenings prior to physician visits; communicate plans of care before, during, and after visits.

Record allergies, vital signs, reason for visit, current medications, social and past medical history, abuse, fall risk, functional assessment, and advance directives in the patient’s medical records.

Verify physician orders, prepare and administer medications and treatments, and submit charges as required.

Clean, sanitize, and reorganize exam rooms after each visit.

Ensure test/lab reports are in the medical record prior to visits and relay information between patients and physicians regarding lab results, medications, appointments, etc.

Communicate with pharmacies, ensure prior authorizations are completed in a timely manner for patient medications.

Sort and distribute correspondence and scans into patient records after physician review and sign-off.

Respond to incoming patient messages; chart messages promptly and document all communication in the patient record.

Assemble and organize supplies for procedures and provide privacy and instructions to patients pre- and post-procedure.

Assist physicians during procedures, obtain specimens, complete required paperwork, and deliver specimens to designated locations.

Order and stock medications and supplies; ensure proper labeling with date opened, expiration date, and nurse initials.

Maintain clinic logs, keeping current month accessible and archiving previous months as required.

Check emergency kit and oxygen monthly; replace the red lock as needed.

Store surgical instruments properly and ensure packaging integrity.

Report regulatory issues to the Office Manager and submit tickets as needed.

Orient and train newly hired nursing personnel on clinic processes.

Qualifications (The Must-Haves)

Current LPN license through the Louisiana State Board of Practical Nurse Examiners.

Current American Heart Association BLS certification.

3 years of related experience.
