We are currently recruiting for a
Full-Time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
to work 12-hour night shifts in our Anesthesiology department. This position reports to the Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine. The CRNA will provide inpatient, emergency, and on-call anesthesia services. Clinicians within Alameda Health System are expected to safely and effectively care for a variety of surgical procedures and circumstances within our anesthesiology team. We are offering a

Under supervision of an anesthesiologist, participates or assists in administering anesthesia via inhalation, intravenous, regional, and neuraxial methods. Assists in intubation and resuscitation of newborns under physician supervision. Performs related duties as required. Duties & Essential Job Functions:
Note: Employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual: Provides anesthesia services as part of the anesthesiology team; conducts patient assessments including interviews, physical examinations, and chart reviews to determine risks and recommend appropriate anesthesia; administers anesthesia during surgeries, labor, delivery, and other procedures involving nerve blocks. Assists in post-anesthesia care and keeps supervising anesthesiologist or surgeon informed of patient status. Responds to emergencies such as "Code Blue"; assists in resuscitations, difficult intubations, and neonatal resuscitations. Cleans, checks, and maintains anesthesia equipment; orders drugs and supplies. Evaluates new techniques and procedures for potential integration into the anesthesiology service. Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred; graduate of a school of anesthesia compliant with American Association of Nurse Anesthetists standards and the California State Board of Registered Nurses. Experience:
At least two years of full-time experience in administering inhalation and intravenous anesthetics in an active hospital or clinic setting. Experience in obstetrical and emergency anesthesia, as well as neonatal resuscitation, is desirable. Licenses & Certifications:
BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications required at hire; certification as a Nurse Anesthetist by the California State Board of Registered Nurses; valid California RN license. Candidates in accredited nurse anesthesia programs with pending graduation and licensing may qualify, contingent on completion within 6 months of hire. Pay Range:
$132.46 - $171.79 per hour The final salary will depend on experience, education, skills, certifications, departmental needs, and other factors. Alameda Health System offers a comprehensive benefits package.
