Overview
Healthcare Technology and Cybersecurity Specialist at the Department of Health Services (DHS). Responsible for supporting and maintaining the security of sensitive data and systems in compliance with HIPAA and other privacy and security regulations. Primary duties include managing access controls, monitoring system activity, conducting vulnerability assessments, and responding to security incidents. Work closely with various teams to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of PHI and PII. Responsibilities
Developing and maintaining role-based access programs and auditing onboarding and off-boarding processes. Identifying and managing locations of protected data within network drives and databases to ensure proper handling. Configuring, managing, monitoring, and serving as the subject matter expert on software systems. Monitoring system activity on county and vendor networks for security and compliance concerns. Ensuring Mobile Device Management (MDM) remains active on assigned devices and initiating deactivation as needed. Providing system security training to staff based on current risk analysis and security events. Advising senior management on information/data security matters. Auditing internal physical security systems including access controls and camera recording and placement. Qualifications
Proven experience with information security, including managing access controls, vulnerability assessments, and incident response. Understanding of security principles such as RBAC, encryption, and network monitoring. Excellent communication skills to convey technical issues to non-technical stakeholders. Familiarity with compliance/regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA. Ability to address and resolve security incidents swiftly. Understanding of current technologies and challenges related to systems and cyber security. Familiarity with software systems such as SIEM, GRC, EHR, CrowdStrike, Nessus, KnowBe4, MDM, and related tools. Note:
It is highly desirable (but not required) that the candidate possess an IT Security Certification (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or other recognized IT Security certifications). What We Offer
