Job Summary: The Hospitalist Nurse in the Cardiology Clinic provides comprehensive nursing care to patients with cardiovascular conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Working closely with cardiologists, hospitalists, and interdisciplinary teams, this nurse supports the management of acute and chronic cardiac conditions, coordinates care transitions, and ensures high-quality, evidence-based patient care. Key Responsibilities: Perform cardiovascular assessments, monitor vital signs, and recognize changes in patient status.

Administer medications, treatments, and cardiac-specific therapies as prescribed.

Coordinate inpatient admissions, discharges, and follow-up appointments.

Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, medications, procedures, and lifestyle modifications.

Collaborate with hospitalists, cardiologists, and allied health professionals to develop and implement care plans.

Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing in IOWA

BSN preferred; ACLS certification required

2+ years of experience in cardiology or acute care setting preferred

Strong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills
