About the Practice Blue Ridge Veterinary Associates is a well-established, small animal and exotics hospital. We are one of the few practices in the area that accepts all Good Samaritan wildlife drop-offs for triage before transferring to rehabilitation. We are a 30,000 ft², full-service, state-of-the-art facility. Our hospital is continually modernized to advance patient care, comfort, and diagnostics. We have a team of 10 veterinarians and seek doctors and team members who value integrity, compassion, and quality. Clients are the heart of our business; the qualified candidate must be service-oriented and truly enjoy working with people.

General Practice focused, but also handles ER and UC

Up to $100,000 Sign-On Bonus

$150K-200K Salary (varies based on Experience/Qualifications)
Generous Base Salary plus leadership bonus eligibility

Medical Director Responsibilities We are looking for someone who will foster a positive, supportive environment that will encourage learning and collaboration across our team. We want someone who instills teamwork. You should be passionate about providing quality medicine, client education, and exceptional service to our loyal clientele.
Advancing Medical Care
Oversee and develop the surgical and medical direction of the practice, ensuring standards of care are followed by the medical team
Answer client questions and concerns regarding medical and surgical procedures
Provide oversight and direction of medical standards, quality of care and inventory
Minimize waste and control costs relating to medical supplies, surgical instruments, and drug inventories
Leading Staff and Practice
Participate in recruiting and interviewing process for doctors and, when appropriate, general staff members
Be passionate about mentoring other associates
Monitor doctor performance and production
Ensure all medical staff receive applicable training, including mentoring of new graduates
Support the Hospital Manager with staff training programs and tracking CE and DVM licensure
Facilities and Capabilities
