Overview

The Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians (HMFP) at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) Department of Neonatology is seeking an experienced newborn clinician with strong clinical, teaching, and communication skills to serve as a Neonatal Hospitalist at The Cambridge Hospital, our community affiliate. The Cambridge Hospital, a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital, serves a culturally rich yet underserved population with 1400 deliveries annually. The Neonatal Hospitalist will provide direct clinical care to well newborns and their families and attend deliveries and stabilize acutely ill newborns in a Level 1b setting. The hospitalist will participate in clinical supervision and teaching of Harvard medical students and residents. Opportunities exist to participate in research and quality improvement. MD or DO and Board Certification in Pediatrics or Medicine-Pediatrics Board Certification in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine preferred/subspecialty certification (or eligible) Independent experience in newborn care and delivery room management is desired; candidates with less experience but strong interest and a plan for supervised delivery training in a Level III NICU may be considered Appointment as an Instructor or Assistant Professor at the Harvard Medical School, commensurate with experience and teaching activities Appointment and Environment

Appointment will be commensurate with experience. The role includes clinical supervision and teaching responsibilities at BIDMC and access to the resources of a large academic department. BIDMC is part of Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH), a network of academic medical centers, teaching hospitals, and community hospitals. The BILH Neonatology Team collaborates to provide comprehensive care across 58 community-based intermediate beds and a 62-bed level III NICU for more intensive support when needed. Application
