About the Role: As a Department Manager, you'll lead and support your entire team, fostering an inclusive culture that promotes collaboration and an entrepreneurial spirit. You will ensure an excellent operational and visual experience for the store, customers, and colleagues. You will be aware of your store’s strengths, opportunities, and competitors, analyze and follow up on sales, and create plans to optimize results and profits. Responsibilities
You are responsible for the total Omni-channel customer experience in your store, ensuring visual and commercial curation according to global guidelines. Represent the H&M brand positively during customer interactions. Acknowledge your department’s strengths, identify commercial opportunities, and act on them. Establish and analyze sales and budget goals, creating plans to optimize results. Ensure customer service is provided in all areas of the store and that your team actively promotes and sells products to customers. Promote the Customer Loyalty App (Hello Member) and in-store sustainability initiatives. Manage your department in a cost-efficient way. Ensure correct routines in fitting rooms and at the checkout, including transactions, returns, and exchanges. Ensure all admin routines for people and operations are handled correctly. Fashion & Trend Awareness
Stay up-to-date with fashion trends, styles, brands, products, competitors, and relevant influencers. Ensure your team provides product and fashion knowledge during customer interactions. Team & Development
Recruitment, onboarding, performance management, upskilling, and developing your in-store team. Performance evaluations and succession planning to support business needs. Share knowledge with your team and collaborate with the Visual Merchandiser team. Give and receive feedback to support each other’s development. Plan and schedule the team; maintain regular communication and motivation through daily/weekly meetings. Ensure procedures, routines, and legal requirements are followed; participate in onboarding and development trainings. Retail Operations / Visual & Commercial Execution
Maintain a clean and tidy sales floor and back-of-house areas. Ensure high fashion quality, visual and commercial presentation, with proper garment care. Maintain stock levels and provide input on allocation to the Area team. Oversee the garment lifecycle from delivery to presentation and manage fitting room routines per internal standards. Utilize in-store tools and technology (Instore Care App, Click & Collect, Smart Store, etc.). Maintain price signs according to global/local guidelines for a strong price perception. Update and maintain BOH areas with key information and safety standards. Responsible for opening and closing the store daily. Qualifications
Strong leadership with the ability to take responsibility for others. Ambitious, an effective communicator, supportive, analytical, comfortable with numbers and statistics.
