About the Role

As a Department Manager, you’ll lead and support your whole team, foster an inclusive culture that promotes collaboration and entrepreneurial spirit, and help you, your team, and H&M succeed. You’ll ensure an excellent operational and visual experience for your store, customers and colleagues. You’ll be aware of your store’s strengths, opportunities and competitors, analyze sales, follow up on performance, and create plans to optimize results and profits. A Day in the Life

Working at H&M means no two days are the same, but a typical day will include the following responsibilities. Customer Sales & Profit

You are responsible for the total Omni-channel customer experience in your store, ensuring visual and commercial curation according to global guidelines. Representing yourself and the H&M brand positively during customer interactions. Identify your department’s strengths and commercial opportunities, and act on them. Establish and analyze sales and budget goals, creating plans to optimize results. Ensure customer service is provided in all areas of the store and that your team actively promotes and sells products to customers. Follow up that your team promotes our Customer Loyalty App (Hello Member) and in-store sustainability initiatives. Manage your department in a cost-efficient way. Ensure proper routines in fitting rooms and at checkout, including transactions, returns and exchanges. Ensure all admin routines for people and operations are handled correctly. Fashion & Trend Awareness

Keep up-to-date with fashion trends, styles, brands, products, competitors and influencers to inform customer interactions. Ensure your team provides product knowledge and relevant information to customers. Team & Development

Responsible for recruitment, onboarding, performance management, upskilling and development of your in-store team. Complete performance evaluations and succession planning to support business and team needs. Retain and share knowledge and skills with your team. Collaborate with the Visual Merchandiser team for planning and execution. Provide and receive feedback to learn, develop and support each other. Plan and schedule the team’s work. Maintain regular communication to inform, motivate and inspire store colleagues (daily/weekly meetings). Ensure all store procedures, routines and legal requirements are followed. Participate in onboarding and training processes relevant for your role and future development. Retail Operations / Visual & Commercial Execution

Maintain a clean and tidy sales floor and back-of-house areas. Ensure high fashion quality, visual and product presentation with proper garment care. Keep stock levels adequate and provide input on allocation. Manage the full garment cycle from delivery to presentation, and maintain fitting room routines according to internal standards. Maintain in-store OMNI Services and in-store tech tools (Instore Care App, Click & Collect, Smart Store, etc.). Keep price signs up-to-date and aligned with global/local strategies and regional requirements to ensure price perception. Update and maintain BOH areas with key information, health and safety, and tidiness. Responsible for opening and closing the store daily. Who You Are

Compensation: expected base salary range is $24.15 - $28.50 hourly. Pay Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly. EEOC Code: SLS. Benefits
